Attendee information

Registration is handled via EDAS. Go to, click Register on the top bar. Search for WiOpt, click in the right column for “Register self” or “Register other”.  Follow instructions there; various payment options exist.

There are three categories: Regular registration, regular registration with discount for members of IEEE CSS or IEEE ITSoc, and student registration (to obtain the discounts, EDAS has to know your status/society membership; it is not enough if you are only registered as an IEEE member!). All registrations have an early registration discount, valid before April 15th. Cancellations are possible before May 1st, but do carry a cancellation fee. Starting May 1st, the full registration fee has to be payed. For details, see the EDAS page. A speaker must have a regular registration; student registrations are NOT acceptable. A full registration covers up to three papers.

These rules apply for both main conference track and all the workshops. Note: you only have to register for a SINGLE workshop to be admitted to all workshops (splitting this in three separate workshop registrations is necessitated by EDAS, sorry).

Registration for the main conference

  1. Regular registration: Early 390 €, late 540 €

  2. Regular registration with IEEE CSS or IEEE ITSoc: Early 300 €, late 420 €

  3. Student registration:  Early 180 €, late 250 €

Registration for the workshops

You only need to register for ONE workshop to be admitted to ALL three workshops! Nonetheless, please register for the workshop you intend to attend the most; this helps us to plan capacity. (Main conference registration does NOT cover workshops!)

  1. Regular registration: Early 130 €, late 180 €

  2. Regular registration with IEEE CSS or IEEE ITSoc: Early 100 €, late 140 €

  3. Student registration:  Early 60 €, late 90 €

Various other hotels - besides the Campus Lounge - are available close to the conference venue.

To reserve a room at the Campus Lounge, please contact the hotel directly and mention “WiOpt” to get a room from the reserved contingent.

For more details on hotels, please see a separate page.

Travel information

Best travel options are to fly in directly to the Paderborn-Lippstadt Airport (PAD), which is served mostly by Lufthansa and Air Berlin, or to Düsseldorf (DUS), served by many major airlines (it is Germany’s third largest airport), and take a train from there to Paderborn (train ride about 2:10 hours).

For more detailed travel information, please see a separate page.

Visa information

In case you need visa assistance, please contact the local arrangements chair.

The conference will take place in the facilities of the Campus Lounge hotel.
